You will enjoy it. But I would not hike it when it is hot, I think I hiked it in October when it was cooler.<br />There is no real cover going up, until you reach the top. And then you are greeted by a a beautiful pine forest and magnificent color in the bowl. <br /><br />It was a beautiful, clear day starting out. 3/4 of the way up it started raining. Unpredictable mountain weather. <br /><br />It will beat your shins up hopping rock to rock coming down.<br /><br />There are 29 pictures on Webshots. Walking paths, boating, birding, Archeology, picnicking BBQ areas. With the Granite Dells edging one side of the lake it is quite beautiful. Granite Mountain and Thumb Butte are both visible from there.
